Our occupational, physical, and speech therapists hold certifications in specialized programs that go far beyond general outpatient care. Salience NeuroRehab is the only neurorehabilitation clinic that is strictly dedicated to neurological conditions. We offer outpatient services in our clinic and in a patient’s home.
Stroke Rehabilitation
Salience therapists are Certified Stroke Rehabilitation Professionals (CSRP) and Neurodevelopmental Treatment (NDT) certified — two of the most advanced hands-on credentials available in stroke recovery. We focus on restoring movement, muscle control, coordination, balance, and independence with daily living skills through a personalized, goal-driven treatment plan built around what matters most to you. Neurodevelopmental Treatment (NDT) certification is important in stroke rehabilitation because it provides clinicians with a specialized, hands-on framework for retraining movement based on how the brain naturally organizes posture, balance, and functional movement. Rather than focusing only on strengthening muscles in isolation, NDT emphasizes improving motor control, alignment, neuroplasticity, and quality of movement during real-life tasks such as walking, reaching, and transferring. NDT enhances stroke rehab by ensuring treatment is grounded in neuroplasticity principles—helping the brain relearn movement in a way that is purposeful, functional, and lasting.
Vestibular and Visual Rehabilitation & Vertigo
If you experience dizziness, spinning, imbalance, or have been diagnosed with BPPV or another vestibular disorder, our certified vestibular therapists can help. We use specialized Frenzel goggles to diagnose and record nystagmus — abnormal eye movements that indicate the source of your symptoms — and perform targeted repositioning treatments to eliminate the cause. We also use the Senaptec Sensory Station for advanced visual and sensorimotor evaluation and retraining. Our therapists also use Frenzel goggles to assist with being able to properly diagnose while recording the individuals eye movements called nystagmus. Nystagmus can occur if vestibular symptoms are due to a mechanical issue in the inner ear such as Benign Paroxysmal Positional Vertigo or BPPV, where tiny crystals that help sense gravity in the inner ear canals. Our therapists perform a special treatment for BPPV should involve putting the crystals back where they belong inside the inner ear canals.
Multiple Sclerosis & PoNS Therapy
Salience is one of the only providers in Indiana certified in PoNS therapy — a Portable Neuromodulation Stimulator (that the individual privately owns) delivered through a mouthpiece that activates the cranial nerves and promotes neuroplasticity in individuals diagnosed with multiple sclerosis. Our PoNS certified occupational therapist pairs the device with customized rehabilitation exercises to improve walking, balance, and overall strength. Our therapists work one on one to provide the best therapy treatments to increase strength, stability, improve balance, and overall well being with individuals who have been diagnosed with Multiple Sclerosis. Parkinson's Disease Therapy
Salience offers the most comprehensive Parkinson's program in Southern Indiana — all under one roof. Our certified team delivers Rock Steady Boxing, LSVT BIG amplitude training, and the SPEAK OUT!® voice and swallowing program. Whether you were recently diagnosed or have been managing Parkinson's for years, we have a program designed to slow progression, improve movement, and protect your voice and swallowing function. We also offer support groups for individuals to provide a valuable opportunity for individuals living with Parkinson’s disease to connect with others who understand the unique challenges of living with a neurological condition. Traumatic Brain Injury Rehabilitation
A traumatic brain injury affects every person differently. Our certified therapists specialize in retraining the brain through neuroplasticity-based treatment to restore motor function, coordination, balance, and independence with daily activities. We work closely with the individual and their caregivers to set meaningful, achievable goals and track progress at every stage of recovery. Neurodevelopmental Therapy helps address these challenges by using hands-on facilitation and guided movement strategies to improve motor control and restore more normal movement patterns. NDT supports this process by encouraging more efficient, task-specific movement and reducing abnormal patterns that can limit progress.
Physical Therapy
Our physical therapy services specialize in the rehabilitation of neurological conditions that impact movement, strength, balance, and functional independence. We provide comprehensive, individualized treatment for individuals recovering from stroke, traumatic brain injury (TBI), Parkinson’s disease, multiple sclerosis (MS), spinal cord injury, and other neurological diagnoses. Our focus includes gait retraining, fall prevention, core strengthening, range of motion restoration, postural control, and functional mobility training to support safer and more efficient movement in both home and community environments. Treatment is designed to improve static and dynamic balance, enhance coordination, and promote safe performance of everyday activities such as transfers, walking, and navigating complex environments. To further support patient safety and confidence during rehabilitation, we utilize the Solo-Step® Overhead Track System, a ceiling-mounted safety harness system that allows individuals to practice standing, balance, and gait activities with reduced fear of falling while maximizing therapeutic engagement and recovery potential.
Occupational Therapy
Our occupational therapists are certified in Vestibular/Visual Rehabilitation to help individuals who are experiencing dizziness, balance problems, visual disturbances, headaches, motion sensitivity, and neurological impairments improve their ability to safely perform daily activities and maintain independence. Our therapists assess and can evaluate for a condition such as Vertigo, BPPV, or any other impairment with using our specialized equipment. Occupational therapists help individuals with neurological conditions improve their ability to perform everyday activities safely, independently, and confidently. Neurological conditions such as stroke, brain injury, Parkinson's disease, Multiple Sclerosis, vestibular disorders, and other neurological diagnoses can affect strength, balance, coordination, vision, cognition, sensation, and overall function. Our therapists also focus on restoring independence with the daily living skills that matter most to you. Our therapists recommend and utilize adaptive equipment, activity retraining, and neuroplasticity-based approaches to help individuals with neurological conditions regain function and confidence in their everyday routines. Caregiver and family education is a core part of every treatment plan.
Speech Therapy
Our Speech-Language Pathologist specializes in the treatment of neurological conditions affecting cognition, communication, speech, voice, and swallowing. We provide individualized therapy for memory and word-finding difficulties, aphasia, dysarthria, voice disorders, and dysphagia using evidence-based techniques such as IOPI Medical® tongue and lip strengthening, VitalStim® neuromuscular electrical stimulation, myofascial release, and kinesiology taping. We are also proud to offer the SPEAK OUT!® program for individuals with Parkinson’s disease. We are proud to offer the SPEAK OUT!® program, an evidence-based speech therapy program developed specifically for individuals living with Parkinson's disease. This program focuses on improving vocal loudness, speech clarity, communication confidence, and overall quality of life. As the only SPEAK OUT!® certified therapist in the area, our SLP provides expert, evidence-based care, with complimentary group sessions available following completion of the individual program. Following completion of individual SPEAK OUT!® therapy sessions, patients are invited to participate in our complimentary SPEAK OUT!® group sessions, providing ongoing support, practice opportunities, and community engagement to help maintain progress over time.
Functional Dry Needling
Functional dry needling is a highly effective treatment for individuals with neurological conditions who experience spasticity, muscle tightness, and pain. Our certified therapist uses fine needles to target trigger points in affected muscles, increasing blood flow, reducing tone and tightness, decreasing referred pain, and improving range of motion. This treatment is particularly beneficial for stroke and TBI patients managing spasticity as part of their long-term recovery.
Rock Steady Boxing
Rock Steady Boxing is a non-contact, boxing-inspired fitness program proven to improve strength, balance, agility, core stability, and coordination in individuals diagnosed with Parkinson's disease. Our certified Rock Steady coach delivers classes in partnership with the Tri-County YMCA on Tuesdays and Thursdays from 10:00–11:00 AM EDT. Rock Steady is also available as an in-home program for individuals who are unable to attend group sessions through Salience NeuroRehab.
LSVT BIG
LSVT BIG is an evidence-based, intensive treatment program for individuals with Parkinson's disease that focuses on amplitude — training the brain to produce bigger, fuller movements to counteract the characteristic shuffling and smallness of movement that Parkinson's causes. The program consists of four sessions per week for four weeks — 16 sessions total — and produces measurable improvements in movement, muscle tone, range of motion, balance, and neuroplasticity.
SPEAK OUT!® Voice Therapy
The SPEAK OUT!® program is an evidence-based voice and swallowing therapy developed by the Parkinson's Voice Project, specifically designed for individuals with Parkinson's disease. Our speech and language pathologist is the only SPEAK OUT!® certified provider in the area and has delivered this program with outstanding results in both individual and group treatment settings. The program trains patients to speak and swallow with intent, converting speech from an automatic function to a deliberate one — which significantly improves clarity and safety.
Mobile Outpatient Therapy
Salience offers mobile outpatient therapy to individuals within a 30-minute radius of our clinic in Jasper, Indiana. Unlike home health services, mobile outpatient therapy carries no homebound restrictions — you are free to participate in community events, family activities, and daily life without jeopardizing your eligibility for care. We bring the same one-on-one, skilled neurological therapy to your home that we deliver in our clinic, giving you the freedom and flexibility your recovery deserves.
Spinal Cord Injury Rehabilitation
Spinal cord injuries require a highly specialized, carefully structured rehabilitation approach. Our therapists work with individuals at every level of spinal cord injury to maximize function, prevent secondary complications, manage spasticity and pain, and improve independence with daily living skills. Treatment is always one-on-one and built around the individual's specific goals and living situation.
ALS & Degenerative Neurological Conditions
For individuals living with ALS, Guillain-Barré syndrome, and other progressive or degenerative neurological conditions, Salience provides skilled therapeutic care focused on maintaining function, managing symptoms, preventing complications, and preserving quality of life for as long as possible. We work alongside caregivers and family members with education and training so support at home is confident and effective.
